YOUR PRIVACY
Privacy Policy.
Last updated: August 1, 2026
ShareCaster is a voice-directed podcast studio (“ShareCaster”, “we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the ShareCaster app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. ShareCaster is a cloud service: creating an episode requires an account, and the audio you record is uploaded to our servers for processing — it is not an offline, on-device app.
Information we collect
- Account information such as your name and email address when you register or sign in.
- Voice recordings and audio you record or upload so that we can draft and generate your episodes.
- Content you create such as scripts, episode titles, cover art, and the generated audio itself.
- Subscription and billing information, which is processed by the app stores or our payment processor when you purchase a subscription or credits.
- Usage, device, and diagnostic information such as the features you use, your device model and operating system, the app version, and crash and performance data.
Voice recordings and generated audio
Because ShareCaster generates episodes in the cloud, the recordings you make are uploaded to our servers and shared with the third-party providers that transcribe your speech, draft scripts, and render audio. Generated episodes are stored in your account. If you publish an episode, it becomes publicly available through a shareable web page and a podcast RSS feed, where anyone — including podcast directories — can access it until you unpublish it.
How we use information
- to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- to transcribe your recordings and generate scripts, audio, and artwork;
- to host your episodes and, when you choose, publish them;
- to process subscriptions and credits;
- to communicate with you about your account and the Service;
- to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- to comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers that help us operate the Service — for authentication, payment processing, analytics, error reporting, AI-assisted generation, and audio hosting;
- publicly, for episodes you choose to publish, through their share pages and RSS feed;
- when required by law or to respond to valid legal process;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, unless a longer period is required by law. You can delete individual episodes, and you can request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us. Published episodes should be unpublished before deletion, and copies already cached or syndicated by third parties may persist outside our control.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
